Very important is having a portfolio. It is a place where you can put all of your work, that you wan galleries or emplyers to see. You need it to be strong and to represent your work and style well. With a portfolio, you can start to look for possible jobs.
It is important to have a physical copy of a portfolio that you can take with you and show it, as well as a digital portfolio, which people can see before an intereview. For that it is good to have a website, where your emplyers can go to and see your work.

You need to remmeber that your portfolio should be illed with work relevant to a job that you are applaying for. Therefore you may have a different copies of your portfolio with different types of work in them. For example if you are applying for fashion photo shoot you would include an editorial or if you are applying for bhind the scenes pgotograhy, you would include your stills.

You can send your work to magazines but you need to remmeber a couple of things:

1. they will probably look for someone who they can hire later in the future as well
2. you may want to show them work that has been already published
they make take an adventage of the fact that there is many photogrpaher on the market- they may pay you very little or you may wait very long for the money to be given to you. They may also not tell you when the magazine will be actually published
3. they may not pay for the expenses of the shoot
4.

You may want to find yourself a photo agent.

They can help with talking to clients and finding them. Agencies can help you with seling your work or exhibit it in a variety of galleries as well as giv you a cerree advices. You need to make sure that you find an agency that does things similar to your own style, therefore being the best option for you.

You also need to remember that your emplyers and clients will look for proves of your abiliies to take good shots. The work you will present to them of course will be the best one you have and they know that to. Therefore they need to insure that you can produce work as good as the examples you have given o them. You can achive that through having a specyfic style. It can be the use of light, specyfic editing style or the way in which you like your models to pose for you.

Be unique. There is nothing worse than following trends and  doing the same thing over and over again. If you really like some kind of photogrpahy or photographer, that is ok as long as you do not copy them; you should experiment wih their style and make it yours.
You also need to remember about details. Do not leave dirty shirts on models if you can see that they are in fact dirty. If you can see it so will your clients. It is also important to work with people who are able to pay attention to detail. Your hair and makeup people whould know how you work and what your style is. If they do not care, the photo will not look as good, no matter how try you will try to hide the imperfections.

Just like your digital porfolio, you should be active on a variety of social media such as Instagram or Twitter. Social media are very important. Everyone goes there and everyone can see news and images. It is the best way to make yourself visible.

You should not e afraid to travel if a particular place can offer you an interesting work. You should be also happy to work for free. Gaining experience and building your portfolio is priceless. You do not need a degree. Your experience and portfolio are the key to fashion photography door.

How to become one?

It is possible to become a jpurnalist without a ualification, however it will be very difficult. Having a degree in English Language, Literature or Journalism would help a lot.

It is great to write articles and post them online, which will automatically create your portfolio. It is also a good ide to send your work everywhere possible and let them use your work for free, which again will uild your portfolio.

You could try to make contacts with people who can get you there. For example journalist, editors or script writers.
